In summer 2017 (already last year) during my vacation I went to the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše (Czech), Karkonosze (Polish), Riesengebirge (German)) at the border of Poland and Czech. It is part of the Sudetes mountains with its highest peak the Schneekoppe (German), Sněžka (Czech) or Śnieżka (Polish) with an elevation of 1,603 metres (5,259 ft). On my way I had to visit two nearby cities.
Görlitz is the easternmost city in Germany at the border of Poland and after Second World War separated in a German part west of the river Neisse and a eastern part called Zgorzelec east of the Neisse. It is a very beautiful town with many reconstructed old historic buildings and really recommended for a visit.
On the banks of the Oder river Wrocław (former Breslau until the end of Second World War which resulted in border changes) in Poland is also a very picturesque and a vibrant city. A beautiful place to visit.
